1996 welcomed a variety of acts to Tut's including Northern Ireland's The Divine Comedy. 

The Divine Comedy achieved their greatest commercial success in the years 1996–99, and performed on the Tut’s stage in the same year they released 'Casanova'This would prove to be the band's commercial breakthrough with lead single 'Something For The Weekend' being a fan favourite at big venues and festivals across the country.  They went on to provide the iconic theme for TV series Father Ted as well as working on the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy’ soundtrack, Doctor Who’ and contributing to the music for God Help the Girl’.
